The Lake Tahoe Unified School District governs elementary, middle and high education institutions that offer a range of academic and enrichment programs. The district enrolls students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools provide lessons in science, technology education, social studies, language arts and mathematics, as well as guidance counseling services. The district s Bijou Community School serves more than 500 students and operates preschool, Head Start and English as a Second Language programs. The Lake Tahoe Unified School District also governs Tahoe Valley School, which administers a parent club and school site council. The district s South Tahoe High School features softball fields.
