Founded in 1933, Laguna Blanca School is an independent, coeducational and college-preparatory day school for students in grades kindergarten through 12. Its lower school curriculum provides an integrated program that emphasizes the daily teaching of reading, writing, listening, speaking, mathematics and social studies. Its middle school offers performing arts courses, including band, chorus, drama, video production and creative percussion, 2- and 3-D art, computer, journalism and health. Its upper school offers honors and advanced placement courses and weekly enrichment assemblies and occurrence of guest speakers. Its library program includes read-aloud, storytelling, author talks, genre units, library skills lessons and writers' craft presentations. Laguna Blanca School offers sport activities, including volleyball, football, soccer, tennis, basketball and cross country, and is located in Santa Barbara, Calif.
