KDFX Fox 11, a FOX affiliate television station in Palm Springs, Calif., is the sister station of KESQ-TV-News Channel 3. Several low-power television stations operate under KESQ-TV's umbrella. Another is station KCWB, a WB affiliate. In the Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms areas of California, KESQ can be seen on Channel 27 and on the local Adelphia Cable system. In the Palm Springs area KESQ-TV is seen on cable channel 3. In 1996, KESQ-TV became a subsidiary of the St. Joseph News-Press and Gazette Company. Its official ownership is Gulf-California Broadcast Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the News-Press and Gazette Company. The company also operates KECY-TV (FOX) and KESE-TV (Telemundo) in Yuma, Ariz., and El Centro, Calif., KVIA-TV (ABC) in El Paso, Texas, and KTVZ (NBC) in Bend, Ore. KDFX-Fox 11's over-the-air channel is 33 and its cable channel is 11. KDFX has a transmitter operating on Channel 33 from Edom Hill, Calif.
