Edward Kaplan started his career as an architect working for other architectural firms on the Peninsula doing a variety of project types from custom homes and remodels. Currently Kaplan Architects is based in San Francisco and specializes in high end residential projects and commercial interiors. Mr. Kaplan has a Master of Architecture degree and a Bachelor degree in Architecture, both from UC Berkeley. He is past Treasurer of the Board of the American Institute of Architects, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and is a past president of the board of Pro Arts, an East Bay Arts organization, and former Vice President of the Board of the Small Business Network in San Francisco.

Kaplan Architects specializes in mostly custom, high end residential projects in San Francisco, the East Bay, and throughout the Bay Area. We have a strong capability in both the design and the technical aspects of the work. We design new homes, additions and, remodels. We can provide services to guide you through the entire design and building process. We will develop a thoughtful and well considered design, take you through any required planning department reviews, develop the technical details and permit drawings needed for construction and permits, procure the building permit, assist you with finding a good contractor, and make sure your project is executed properly during construction.
