Kairos (pronounced Kah-ee-ros) Youth Choir practices twice a week in the sanctuary of Calvary Church, located on Virginia Street between Martin Luther King Way and Shattuck Avenue. This choir, which takes its name from the Greek word meaning "the moment when all things work together in harmony," produces two major performances each year: in the fall and spring. It also puts on two works-in-progress concerts each semester.
The Kairos Youth Choir operates focuses on healthy and positive communication, fun and play, and high-level artistic development in hope that their students continue to celebrate and cherish music and the creative process. The initiation fees are reasonable but they maintain a policy of "no one is ever turned away due to lack of funds."
