History
Dr. Robert Minkowsky and his wife, Dr. Irene Minkowsky, share a joint practice in the Physician's Back Institute. Their goal is to provide excellence in nonsurgical medical care for musculoskeletal problems with specific emphasis on the spine.
Specialties
Dr. Robert Minkowsky uses the diagnostic skills he developed as an internist to distinguish himself by providing a comprehensive evaluation based on the traditional medical model as well as the osteopathic biomechanical approach. Skilled in osteopathic manipulation, treatment focuses on restoration of function as well as pain relief and may also include therapeutic exercise, laser light therapy and correction of ergonomics and posture. For the last year we have been using laser light therapy in our practice. It has been particularly helpful in the treatment of tendinitis and muscle injury, but has many other applications. The light from the laser stimulates biological responses at the cellular level, producing an anti-inflammatory effect as well as promoting regeneration of damaged tissue. The result is a reduction of pain and rapid restoration of normal function. There are no harmful side effects from laser therapy and the procedure is painless.
