Improve Your English Tutoring Services is Silicon Valley's oldest English-only tutoring company. Since 2002, the company has taught more than 500 students, many of whom now attend college or have graduated.
Specialties
We specialize in building a strong foundation of English skills. A strong foundation is the most important element for success on the SAT and ACT, in AP classes, in college, and in the work force. We tutor in our office, in your home, or via Skype. Most of our tutoring is 1-1, and most of our students are from 5th-12th grade. We also offer group reading classes for younger students. Our curriculum covers classic literature, vocabulary, traditional grammar, and writing. It provides clear guidelines that tutors adapt to students' individual pace and needs. Students have weekly HW assignments. We hire only the most skilled and experienced English tutors. All tutors must pass a demanding test and undergo additional training. All tutors have a BA in English Literature or a related field. Many of our tutors have PhD's, MAs, MFAs, and teaching credentials. We specialize in helping gifted writers achieve their potential. Many of our writers have won awards in the Scholastic Art and Literature competition. Some have gone on to writing programs in college. We offer college counseling to a limited number of students each year. Our college counseling students have been admitted to Stanford, Princeton, Yale, the University of Chicago, Amherst, and many, many more top schools.
