The Imperial Valley Desert Museum preserves, interprets, and celebrates the desert and desert environment, its natural history, and the history of the indigenous peoples who reside within it. We feature a number of interactive exhibits, designed to engage and entertain across the subjects of natural history and archaeology. Come learn about the history of the Imperial Valley, from its submarine origins millions of years ago, to the creation of the All-American Canal and the Salton Sea. Our friendly staff is eager to welcome and work with visitors, while our programming -- star gazing nights, regional hikes, coiled clay pottery making, etc -- and revolving exhibits guarantee that every visit is a new and treasured experience.
