In 1995, Dr. David Ryon envisioned the conceptual framework of Image Technology Laboratories picture archiving and communications system. The purpose was to electronically integrate the diagnostic images, imaging modalities, and business functions into one seamless system located at Kingston Diagnostic Center, the imaging center founded by Ryon in Kingston, NY. The goal was to implement a PACS/RIS system at the center and then to create an area wide network providing over-read services to the region's local hospitals. In 2000, the ITL PACS/RIS product was successfully implemented at Kingston Diagnostic Center. Out of this effort, Image Technology Laboratories was born. In 2002, ITL launched their product rollout and generated significant interest from the medical community.
