Formed in 1909, the Huntington Beach Fire Department provides fire protection, rescue, emergency medical, and hazardous materials control and response services to people and businesses. It works to prevent loss of properties and protect lives from fire and environmental emergencies. The department operates a fleet of ambulances that provide emergency transportation services for patients. The Huntington Beach Fire Department handles more than 10,000 emergency calls related to transportation every year. It offers training and educational and home inspection programs on fire prevention and safety. The department also organizes fire station tours for schools and community groups. It also offers lapel pins with Huntington Beach Fire Department s logo. The Huntington Beach Fire Department maintains one of its locations in Huntington Beach, Calif.
