The Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District, also known as HBMWD, provides water to the cities and communities in the Greater Humboldt Bay area in California. It operates a domestic water system that supplies treated drinking water. The district also operates an industrial system that supplies untreated raw water to industrial users. Established in 1956, The Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District maintains several facilities that include the R.W. Matthews Dam and Gosselin Hydro-Electric Power House. It also operates diversion, pumping and control facilities at the John R. Winzler Pumping and Control Center, as well as other storage and treatment facilities. The district serves the City of Arcata, City of Eureka, City of Blue Lake, Fieldbrook-Glendale Community Services District and Manila Community Services District.
