History
In 1944 Mr. Ed Wiebe opened the Hollywood Cafe. It was located on the old highway 99 where he operated 24 hours a day as a restaurant and donut shop. When he first opened Famous Actor Slim Pickens stopped by with his movie crew and asked Ed What the name of his new restaurant was he told him it reminded him of a Cafe he liked in Hollywood. It was at that moment that he named it The Hollywood Cafe. Ed operated a successful business in Lodi for over 40 years and then sold it to his Rykoff Food Purveyor who operated it for over 20 years. 6 years ago the former owners purchased and remodeled the restaurant to it's current style of Fifties and Famous Movie Actors. In 2009 It was again sold to the current owners who Ironically was their US Food Service Purveyor. Who would ever think? Be greeted by a full size picture of James Dean and Elvis Presley.
