Established in 1911, Henry Madden Library is located in Fresno, Calif., and is a part of the California State University. The library s collection consists of more than 1 million volumes, including bound periodicals, elementary and secondary educational books and all courses of study taught at the university. Its collection also includes literary and scholarly works in English, French, German, Spanish and other languages, history, art history, philosophy, and musical scores and recordings. It has various online resources, such as databases and electronic journals and books, sound recordings, video recordings, maps, United States and California government publications and microforms. It also has a multicultural resource center, music library with classic phonodiscs, videotapes and cassettes and an archive with rare book collection. In addition, the Madden Library sponsors University Brown Bag Book Club discussions with professors attending from all disciplines and facilitating the discussion.
