SETA Head Start Sacramento provides educational programs, health care and basic support services to children of low-income families. It is located in Sacramento, Calif., and also provides special services to children up to the age of 5 years suffering from mental and developmental disabilities. SETA Head Start develops special curriculum for children suffering from disabilities according to individual learning abilities and needs. It has special education teachers and also encourages parental involvement in the educational and developmental process of their children. SETA Head Start also provides immunization schedules, and medical evaluation and screenings, physical and dental examinations for children, and speech and language therapies. Additionally, it provides nutritional assessment and counseling services and nutrition education to families. It also has a support staff comprising psychologist, a mental health coordinator and social workers that provide various services, such as crisis intervention, case management and individual and group counseling sessions.
