The Haslett Warehouse, located at 680 Beach Street in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood, is a historic building that was originally constructed in 1909 as part of the California Fruit Cannery Association, later known as Del Monte. After serving as a cannery and then as warehouses, the building was renovated in the 1960s and now houses the San Francisco Maritime Park Museum, showcasing the city's maritime heritage, as well as the Argonaut Hotel operated by the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group.
Designed by architect William Mooser, the 198,000-square-foot Haslett Warehouse is a significant example of economically viable restoration of historic buildings. Although it suffered a devastating fire during renovation in 2002, the building was successfully restored and reopened in 2003. Today, it is owned by the National Park Service and stands as a testament to San Francisco's rich industrial and maritime history.
