Greater Farallones Association (GFA) is the only non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, an ecologically diverse and globally significant ocean environment. Located off the northern and central California coast, the Sanctuary encompasses 3,295 square miles. Founded in 1995, GFA is the first association in the world to partner with a marine sanctuary and is a pioneer in effective non-profit-government collaborations for ocean conservation and education.
