History
Goodwill Industries of San Diego County (GISD), a private, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, was established in San Diego by a group of community leaders to provide work for people with disabilities. We are an autonomous organization, but part of a network of Goodwill Industries organizations around the world. Goodwill believes that work is one of the foundations of a meaningful life. In the beginning we were simply known as an employer of persons with disabilities. Today's Goodwill is a vital, proactive organization that, in addition to providing vital training and paid work experience to people with barriers to employment, now offers free services to anyone in the community who is looking for a job, or a new job through Goodwill Employment Centers.
