History
After the birth of his son Liam in 1992, importer and world traveler Kevin Murphy opened a little store on Main Street, Sebastopol, which nearly 20 years later, is still thriving and much loved by West Sonoma County locals. Global Village has been managed by local painter and experienced artisan merchant Jaen Martens since 1998. Jaen and her daughter Anya, a gifted business woman and artist in her own right, have recently opened a store together in Graton, California. They are sister stores, but not twins! Each store has a unique aesthetic and flavor. They are stores designed for the community, with enduring beauty and versatility as guiding principles. Visitors to Sebastopol and Graton adore our stores when they stumble upon them, and many return with each visit to wine country. One family business, two well-situated locations and a relaxed Global Village approach to conscious, eco-fashion.
