Crystaliner Corporation was founded by John Norek in 1955 to facilitate his interest in fiberglass boat design and building. John had designed one of the first fast commercial fishing boats in 1929 and later pioneered fiberglass boat building in Southern California. He built the molds for the Navy's first 16' fiberglass lifeboat, and in 1959 the first fiberglass boat to ever win The Miami Nassau Race. John worked as a consultant for many companies and designed the popular Pacifica 44 Sportfisher as well as all Owens fiberglass power boat hulls. Over the years, a good share of Crystaliner's business has been contract work for other companies, along with fiberglass repair work and manufacturing Crystaliner's line of 21', 26', 29' and 33' boats. John Norek sold the company in 1978 to his nephews Jerry and Jack Norek in the tradition of a true family business. Both retired in 1999 and left the day to day operations to Lewis Page, General Manager, daughter Dorothy LaRose, Office Manager and son Jack Norek Jr., Store Manager. Today Crystaliner Corporation takes pride in continuing with the same high standards and commitment to Crystaliner's high quality and reputation. The competent staff, shipwrights and technicians allow Crystaliner Corporation to compete confidently in a world market. A partial client list includes: Sam L. Morse Company, Boeing Corporation, State of California, City of Long Beach, City of Huntington Beach, City of Oceanside, City of Newport Beach, Doug Bombard Enterprises, Lake Perris, South Coast Plaza, Elco Marine and Marina Del Rey Anglers.
