Established on January 17th, 1994-the day of the Northridge Earthquake- Taylor & Syfan Consulting Engineers has been working ever since to protect its clients from the next major seismic event. After leaving prominent positions at a Santa Monica firm, Steve Taylor and Rye Syfan joined together to establish a structural engineering design firm of their own. With two offices, one in Los Osos on the Central Coast and the other in the City of Santa Monica, they were able to continue working with architects in Southern California while establishing new relationships with clients in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. Taylor & Syfan Consulting Engineers quickly came to be known and appreciated for smart, innovative and efficient structural solutions and its standing within the industry continues to be strong. Its team of engineers provides expertise in a broad range of project types, including residential, multi-family, commercial, civic, religious, industrial, educational, military, health care and sustainability.
