History
Over 30 years ago, our firm started out as Fee + Munson after our founders Steve Fee and Jack Munson. A small office at first, our primary objective was servicing developers by delivering more personalized architectural services than what bigger firms offered. In 1987 David Ebert was brought on board to represent our burgeoning Interiors group and FME Architecture + Design was born. Since that time we have had considerable success throughout the Bay Area competing in markets usually reserved for larger firms. Our Architectural specialties have and continue to be ground-up construction, adaptive re-use, retrofitting and renovation. For our Interiors group we continue to offer landlord support for Class A and B office buildings as well as commercial interiors for a range of clients from Tech start-ups to established Law Firms. Please visit our website for examples of our work as well as project listings.
Specialties
FME Architecture + Design is an architectural and interior design practice that has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1980. FME's 30-person staff delivers a wide range of talent and experience while maintaining the personalized service of a smaller firm. By adapting our approach and processes to suit the needs of our clients, we are able to produce large and small scale projects in equal measure. We offer full-service architectural design and documentation for ground-up construction, adaptive reuse and retrofit, and expansion of existing facilities as well as comprehensive interior design for both building owners and tenants. We value the partnerships we develop with our clients and reflect that in our designs. Our goal is to design spaces that carefully balance our clients' wants and needs to provide spaces that are not only functional, but exceptional.
