Chef Richard Florczak was born in New Jersey, where pizza is a religion. At the height of a long career as a private chef to high-profile clients (Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Garner, Billy Gardell, Tyson Chandler, Christina Aguilera), Richard built a wood-fired pizza oven in his home and lost all interest in other cooking. He spent five years perfecting Flame Pizzeria's dough with flour and starter from Naples, and in 2015 realized his dream - proudly opening Flame Pizzeria two miles north of Ventura Blvd. in Reseda, CA. Each pizza is made by Richard in a 700 degree wood-fired oven. The oven is centrally located in Flame's dining room so customers can see their pizzas being made by Richard. And it comes to the table still bubbling!
