First Street School, established in 2000, is a coeducational institution that teaches more than 450 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It has a parent-teacher club, which is a group of parents and teachers who support school functions and also approve funding for classroom events and special needs. First Street School conducts various special programs, including the English Language Learners and gifted and talented education. The school organizes a homework club, music and art competitions, after-school tutorial classes and a mentoring program for youth, which is sponsored by Lincoln High School. Located in Lincoln, Calif., First Street School is operated by the Western Placer Unified School District, which has an enrollment of nearly 8,500 students in over 10 schools.
