History
W.W. and Mrs. DeWhitt came to Sacramento on December 16, 1913 to establish a congregation of the Church of God. The first meetings were at 3401 7th Avenue. Sunday School was started in their residence the first Sunday of April, 1914. On November 1, 1914, they met at 34th Street and 1st Avenue and October, 1915 changed to the Maddox building in Oak Park.A new structure was erected at 4400 58th Street. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held May 19, 1953 at the new church site. Preparations were begun June 3, 1953, to erect the structure and the new sanctuary was dedicated on February 7, 1954. Pastor Jason Gillaspie joined our family October, 2001 and left in September 2010. John & Mary Bertera became the youth pastors when Jason left and are presently in that position today. Marybeth Gilleland joined staff August, 2012, as Church Secretary and is presently in that position today.

We are a non-denomination church affiliated with the Church of God, Anderson IN. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah; born of a virgin, died on the cross, and resurrected to save us all.
