One of the destinaions I totally love to go to take sunset pictures. This pier is the best place to get the fire sunsets. Recommend anyone to go there.

Do not come. This is a closed off pier in the middle of University of California San Diego's campus. There is no parking, so I do not recommend coming here. They also have a security car that...

Tide pools here at a low tide of -0.4 are just ok. Not that many pool areas. Only saw small hermit crabs, minnow like fish, sea slugs, anemones, small crabs, mussels, barnacles, and a hidden octopus.

Moonlight State Beach

Moonlight Beach is a great family beach with amenities including a playground, picnic facilities, restrooms, fire pits and a concession stand. Lifeguard headquarters is also located at Moonlight Beach. The beach can be accessed by a path from the overlook or at the street level. No dogs, portable grills, alcohol, smoking or glass is allowed on any city beach. All beaches and viewpoints are available on a first come, first served basis.

State of California San Onofre State Beach

The San Onofre State Beach is located right next to the San Clemente State Park and is a wonderful place to spend the day. The ocean here is a dark blue and surfers can be seen riding the waves regularly. The beach is a bit rocky, but the view is impressive. There are public bathrooms next to the parking lot.
