History
In 2004, I began cooking the comida corrida and guisados of Mexico City from my home in the Mission District. I understood that there wasn't this kind of cooking in the city, and I wanted to offer something delicious, affordable, fast and unique. In 2007, I joined La Cocina, a non-profit incubator kitchen that works with women entrepreneurs to launch, grow and formalize food businesses. I began with catering, and did several large weddings, and in 2008 I opened a Saturday Farmer's Market Stand at the Noe Vally Market. In June of 2016, I finally opened my dream restaurant, where we will serve Mexican food like I would serve to you if you were a guest in my home. I can't wait to have you come visit.
Specialties
We make the guisados and comida corridas of Mexico City. Guisados are the stews and family meals that require sazon, the special touch of someone who has been cooking this food for their entire lives. That's what we love to do, and we hope to share it with you. Our restaurant focuses on the guisados. We offer individual plates but also full meals for families. I've raised a family, and love to host, and we hope that this will become a home away from home for you and your's.
