Edgar P. Toscano, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist specializing in kidney care. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. Fluent in English and Spanish, he proudly serves residents in the community of East Los Angeles, California. Dr. Toscano earned his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the Central University of Ecuador School of Medicine in Quito, Ecuador. He moved to the United States as a research fellow in endocrinology and internal medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. After four years as a research fellow, Dr. Toscano completed his residency in internal medicine at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science's King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Following his residency, he participated in a fellowship in nephrology at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, and now serves there as an attending physician in nephrology. Dr. Toscano is also the medical director of the dialysis unit at Montebello Artificial Kidney Center in Montebello, California, and the director of the outpatient dialysis program in the Olive View-UCLA nephrology fellowship program. When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Toscano enjoys reading and traveling. Dr. Toscano likes to stay active and loves sports, he is an avid Lakers and Manchester United fan.
