History
Hepatitis B and C are the leading causes of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer in the USA. Early prevention, detection and intervention of these deadly infection will markedly prolong and improve the quality of life of these patients. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. The American Cancer Society's estimates that for the year of 2014 it will be about 135,000 new cases of colorectal cancer in the United States. Therefore, prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer are one of our main goals. Routine colonoscopy is among the most effective way to detect colorectal cancer in its earliest stage, usually manifested as small polyps. These polyps can be completely and safely removed during the routine colonoscopy most of the time. Association with several teaching hospitals give the Center the ability to quickly and effectively refer its patients with complex disorders to a tertiary care center.
