In France, the expression "a la folie" is used when one is in love to the point of madness. Owner Nafissa Tayebi named her store A La Folie to suggest the madness of love, reflected in her inventory of beautiful European lingerie. The shop, a 4th Street mainstay for more than a dozen years, fits women of all shapes and sizes, from 30A to 40H; a specialized fitting service is offered for more particular styles, such as those needed for plunging necklines or backless outfits. The basics here are anything but -- this is the place to go when you're looking for that special little nothing. A La Folie also carries a nice selection of jewelry, soaps and chocolates.
