The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is an independent state agency in Chico, CA, established by state and federal law to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families receive the necessary services and support. Through advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change, SCDD works towards a consumer and family-based system of individualized services, supports, and assistance.
With a team of dedicated staff throughout California, SCDD engages in various activities and projects to promote self-determination, provide information resources, and foster a statewide self-advocacy network. They actively seek individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their family members to join their Regional Advisory Committees (RAC) and contribute their leadership and input to important supports, services, and programs.
