The Information Systems and Technology Department assists various county departments individually and collectively. It is responsible for processing, maintaining, and ensuring the security of business applications on hardware and software platforms in accordance with strategic plans. The department also ensures the integrity and security of information and data in accordance with state, federal and local regulations. The Information Systems and Technology Department additionally offers support functions for the development of mainframe, client server and web applications. Its systems and programming division is responsible for the design, development and support of large application systems. The department is comprised of more than 1900 full-time employees and over 200 part-time workers. The Information Systems and Technology Department is located in Novato, Calif.
