Completely renovated and expanded one year ago, this non-denominational Evangelical church now accommodates more than 700 congregants who come from all over Yolo County and Sacramento to worship.
Founded originally in 1981 by a group of Korean UC Davis students seeking a place to worship together, the church now reaches out to the community through various volunteer efforts. Every week, for example, during the church-sponsored Friday's Harvest event, volunteers hand out bags of produce donated by the Yolo County Food Bank.
"We used to see mostly friends of our students show up, now we help seniors, the homeless and other members of the community," said a spokesperson.
The church also sponsors missionaries around the world, and in Sacramento, the Union Gospel Mission. Services are conducted both in Korean and English.
