The CSUN Lactation Space, located in Northridge, CA, is a part of the Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing. Committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, organizations, and communities within Cal State Northridge's service region, the CSUN Lactation Space provides support and accommodations for pregnant, parenting, and lactating students, faculty, and staff. They offer a new Lactation Space in the Bayramian Hall Lobby, made possible by the Student Campus Quality Fee, and are dedicated to fostering healthful living through community and campus partnerships.
As a collaborative effort of campus and community members, the CSUN Lactation Space stands in solidarity with various communities, including the Fernande o Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, Black Lives Matter, and the Asian American Pacific Islander Community. They recognize and honor the ancestral and unceded territory of the Sesevitam people, while also advocating for the fight against systemic racism and promoting equal treatment, respect, and validation for all. With a focus on inclusivity and support, the CSUN Lactation Space is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for lactating individuals.
