The Environmental Health Division, governed by the County of Ventura in California, protects the public health and environment by ensuring conformance with state laws and county ordinances. It offers food protection, hazardous material, individual sewage disposal system, land use, medical waste, ocean water quality monitoring and recreational health programs. The division conducts routine inspections and investigations. The Environmental Health Division also organizes workshops and seminars. It interacts with various federal, state, regional and local government agencies associated with environmental health programs. The division serves residents and visitors during several emergencies, such as earthquakes, fires, floods, hazardous materials incidents, sewage spills and the outbreaks of diseases.
