History
After working for 13 years as a carpenter, a superintendent and as a project manager in the custom residential remodeling field, I was disturbed by the often adversarial nature of the relationship between the parties (owners, contractors & architects) engaged in construction projects. In the early-1990's, I was trained as a mediator for a program in the Contra Costa court system and saw immediately the value of applying the mediator's techniques to the management of construction projects. In 1995, I started Constructive Resolution with the intent of doing just that. What started out as an arbitration / mediation business has evolved over the years into full-service consultancy with a focus on problem solving in the industry.
