California Conservation Corps is a nonprofit public benefit organization, promoting the careers of young California citizens through the sponsorship of educational and entrepreneurial business opportunities, directed toward protecting California s environment, natural resources, and communities. It works in urban, suburban and rural areas on a wide range of projects, including emergencies, such as fires and floods, energy conservation and retrofitting, irrigation system installation, landscape management, human services work, recycling, trail building, tree planting, and wildlife habitat restoration. The organization recruits men and women of ages 18 to 25, and offers a one-year program. Its projects offer members education and training in employable skills. California Conservation Corps has various offices throughout the state of California, including in Auburn, Camarillo, Chico, Escondido, Fortuna, Fresno, Los Angeles, Napa, Norwalk, and Pomona.
