Established in 1965, the Community Action of Napa Valley, formerly known as NCCEO, is a private, nonprofit organization. It offers a variety of health and human services and programs for low-income group. The corporation provides emergency shelter services for homeless adults and children. It operates a resource center that offers shower, mail, laundry and telephone services to over 80 adults. The corporation also provides job development, housing assistance, legal aid, mental health outreach, and medical screening and referral services. Its food bank program features emergency food pantries and Friday free markets . Community Action of Napa Valley is also the coordinating and fiscal agent for the San Francisco Chronicle s Season of Sharing Fund for Napa County. This fund provides one-time grants for housing assistance and critical family needs. In addition, the corporation conducts tobacco education and smoking cessation programs. Community Action of Napa Valley provides several child development and family programs.
