ACME has been the comedic training ground and playground for a wide range of celebrities in the almost 25 years it has been in existence. Performers who have graced the ACME stage include Adam Corolla, Joel Mchale, Lea Thompson, Brian Cranston, Scott Thompson, Mindy Sterling, Debra Wilson, Alex Borstein, and many more.
Specialties
A focus on finding your unique writing voice and then honing your writing to better support it. An in-depth exploration of crafting jokes as the building blocks of comedy. An emphasis on the balance between discovering the comedy in your writing and then clarifying and refining exactly WHAT your comedy/sketch is about. Learning the basics of what makes good comedy work and applying those elements to your own writing. Developing characters that express your comedic voice. Performance coaching and a final performance, where the ideas you developed in class are performed on stage.
