The Coachella Valley Housing Coalition, established in 1982, is a nonprofit housing development corporation. It provides services related to advocacy, research, construction, operation of housing societies and community development projects. Additionally, it provides administration, accounting and asset management services. The organization supports low-and very low-income families to improve their living conditions. It offers resident services in Riverside and Imperial counties in California. The organization has developed several community organizations, such as child care centers, community gardens and computer technology centers. It also organizes numerous after-school tutoring programs, tennis camps and music classes. In addition, it provides John F. Mealey scholarship fund. The Coachella Valley Housing Coalition is located in Indio, Calif., and has a professional staff of more than 50 personnel.
