History
We started the Classroom Matters' After-School Program (internally known as CMASP) to meet the needs of one of CM's two female directors. As a single mom of three kids, she wanted to create a safe and loving place for her own kids to land after school. Finding other programs lacking, CMASP was born and thrives to this day. It's a labor of love!
Specialties
Our afterschool care program is held at St. Alban's Church at the corner of Washington and Curtis in Albany. It's a large, beautiful, open hall space with a kitchen and a small stage. The kids also spend quite a bit of time at Memorial Park, which is where you can find them on Wednesdays - after they've done their homework and reading, of course! Our current co-directors are creative and artistic dynamos and have been developing original activities for CM students in addition to regular forays into cooking, music, theater, and community projects. Come visit and take a tour!
