Hercules City Hall was constructed in 1986, 86 years after the city was incorporated. It houses the administrative offices of city departments such as Municipal Resources, Finance, police and the city manager's office. The city's senior center is also connected to city hall.
Hercules City Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and are typically in the council chambers of city hall. The council also serves as the city's redevelopment agency.
Hercules council members include Mayor Dan Romero, Vice Mayor John Delgado, Gerard Boulanger, Myrna de Vera and William Wilkins.
