This is the business office for the US-GCC Economic Project, a United States federal government program that was formed in 1981. It was established by the U.S. Commerce Department to deal with issues between the U.S. government and the GCC, (the Gulf Cooperation Council), which included members of the Middle Eastern oil producing countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Together, the committee discusses and coordinates foreign policy, defense, security planning and economic stability in the oil/gas market. The office was established in Los Angeles because many members of the GCC have homes in the Beverly Hills and Bel Air areas.
