History
Christina Bird Acupuncture was founded in 2012 after Christina graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and passed her California Acupuncture License exam. Her education and clinical experience involved an integrated curriculum of both Eastern and Western medicine theories and practices. The four-year, 3,500 hours included courses in Western sciences, Eastern and Western nutrition, Chinese herbology, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and disease diagnosis, and Acupuncture meridian and point theory.
Specialties
Christina Bird specializes in general and orthopedic acupuncture, the latter of which includes pain management and injury rehabilitation. Christina's undergraduate degree was in Athletic Training, where she worked with athletes and completed initial assessment of injuries, management of both acute and chronic injuries, and the therapeutic exercises involved in functional rehabilitation and injury prevention. She combines this experience with her eastern knowledge when working on patients. Christina spent two externship semesters at Children's Hospital, working primarily with the kids in the chronic pain department. She has a gentle touch and a calm demeanor that help put children at ease, even when they are sick or in pain.
