Christ Lutheran Church describes itself as "a small congregation with a big heart." The congregation seeks to welcome people from "all walks of life, all backgrounds, all lifestyles, all family types, all gender identities and sexual orientations--all who are seeking a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ," according to the website. It is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Rev. Sharon D. Lubkeman has been Pastor since 1993. The church has opened its Fellowship Hall for meetings of the neighborhood CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), West County Friendship banquets for people with AIDS and HIV and their care-givers, Senior Center Adult Education and 12-step support groups. It shares the church building with the Mira Vista United Church of Christ.
