Founded in 1986, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of support services for abused and neglected children and youths. The organization works to enhance children's academic achievement and provides foster care and placement services through its education advocacy program. Child Advocates of Silicon Valley s advocates also monitor children s progress in schools through regular contact with teachers, counselors and tutors. It is governed by a board of 18 people representing a range of professional expertise in education, economic development, law, business planning, accounting and fundraising. Additionally, the organization participates in various birdhouse auctions. Child Advocates of Silicon Valley maintains a location in Milpitas, Calif.
