History
While our location opened in 2022, the Chicken in a Barrel franchise began in 2010. Our founder, Mike Pierce sought to share the love of God and the joy he found in his delicious and unique cooking methods. With God at the center of this business, family and dedication bloom all around. We first encountered Chicken in a Barrel while vacationing in Kauai. We were hooked, and we dreamed of continuing Mike Pierce's vision by bringing Chicken in a Barrel to our home state of California. We opened the beautiful South Lake Tahoe location in the summer of 2018, and the sunny Huntington Beach location followed in the summer of 2022. These are the only two Chicken in a Barrel franchises located on the mainland.
Specialties
We specialize in barbecued chicken, pork, and ribs cooked in our custom drum barrels. Be sure to check out our barbecue sandwiches, burgers, and island-inspired side dishes too.
