Charlie's Fixtures started its operation in November of 1989 at a modest storefront on Washington Blvd, Los Angeles with only 10 employees. The owner, Charles Lao is son of a Chinese department store owner and was raised in the Philippines has proven experience in the industry. He graduated his degree in Mechanical Engineer from an accredited University in Philippines. He had diverse experience in merchandising in diverse industries. He started his career in food service industry by working for one of the largest dealers of used restaurant equipments in California. He conducted a ten-month study of that company's business model before signing on with Avery Restaurant Equipment in 1988. In 1994, Charles acquired a second warehouse on Venice Blvd and moved the entire inventory from Washington to Venice warehouse since 2004. Currently, he has another warehouse at Toberman St., Los Angeles, where large equipments are stored. Currently, Charlie's Fixtures has more than 40 employees and is in hiring mode.
