Channel Islands National Park comprises of the five islands of Anacapa, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, San Miguel and Santa Barbara. The park is located in an ocean environment and its mission is to preserve and protect the natural wealth and cultural resources of the islands. It houses rare animal species, plants and archeological resources. The park features marine animals, such as dolphins, garibaldi, Pacific grey whales, giant black seabass and California spiny lobsters. Channel Islands National Park is also inhabited by brown pelicans and golden and bald eagles. The park maintains more than 20 species of endemic terrestrial animals, including fox, lizards, snakes and deer mouse. Channel Islands National Park is located in Ventura, Calif.
