History
Central California Alliance for Health (the Alliance) is the locally governed Medi-Cal health plan that serves over 360,000 members in Monterey, Santa Cruz and Merced counties. Medi-Cal is the state's health care program for low income Californians, including over 40% of all children, half of those with disabilities, over a million seniors, and low wage workers who may not get affordable insurance through their jobs (1 in 5 workers/4 million adults). In total, 13 million, or one in three, Californians rely on the program for health coverage. Medi-Cal pays for essential primary, specialty, acute, behavioral health and long-term care services. In the tri-county region we serve, 1 in 3 residents rely on Medi-Cal--and the Alliance--for their healthcare needs. Headquartered in Scotts Valley with offices in Salinas and Merced, our employees live and work in the communities we serve. Healthy People. Healthy Communities is our focus and we remain committed to our members in this mission.
