It serves as the central hub for State agency involvement in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental review process, coordinating the review of Environmental Documents and distributing them to State agencies for assessment.
As the State Single Point of Contact (SPOC), the State Clearinghouse also facilitates the coordination of State and local review of applications for federal grants or loans under select State programs, in accordance with the Presidential Executive Order E.O. 12372, Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs.
